Napanee Mission

The Napanee Mission pattern has had several subtle changes in style,  weight and color from the early 1900's through the Great Depression.  The 1917 clip below from a Sneath Glass Company advertisement shows the earliest pattern which has slightly "squared" arches and is heavier glass.  They refer to it simply as a 9 piece Mission set.  Pre-1919 pieces may also show a grayish to amethyst tint due to aging.  The later moldings have clearer, lighter weight glass and smoother lines.  It should also be noted that the much rarer Amber pieces have color variations from a pale greenish amber to a very dark brown amber.
